My Approach to Therapy

Mood swings? Existential dread before breakfast? Brain that won’t shut up or get going? Yeah, I get it. Therapy with me isn’t about pretending everything’s fine; it’s about making space for the real stuff, especially the messy, moody, meltdown-y parts. You don’t have to have it all together to start. (Spoiler: no one does.)

We all create patterns to survive whatever life throws at us. Some are brilliant adaptations. Others are like emotional duct tape, keeping it together, but just barely. In our work, we’ll get curious (not judgy) about those patterns—how you react when stress hits, the roles you slip into with others, and which parts of you got shoved to the side to keep things “functioning.”

Some days therapy is deep, some days it's practical, and some days it’s just holding space for the fact that everything feels like a lot.

We’ll start with a few sessions to get the lay of the land: your story, your struggles, your strengths, and what you're carrying right now. Then we’ll co-create a plan that fits you, whether you want to work on managing emotions, finding more stability, healing from trauma or grief or just getting through the week without crashing. I bring structure, but I also leave room for whatever’s real in the moment.

We’ll slow things down, make space for real understanding, and build practices that help you feel more grounded, clear, and connected to the parts of yourself you’ve been missing.

I integrate evidence-based practices like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Committment Therapy and trauma-informed, somatic approaches to support emotional regulation and nervous system healing. For clients navigating  executive function challenges, I incorporate coaching tools that build external structure while honoring internal complexity.

You don’t have to feel this way forever. If your emotions are wearing you out, let’s talk.
